North West Reptile Feeders has Goliath Hornworm eggs fore sale on our site. Hornworm eggs are very touchy and are not recommended for beginners. You can Not Refrigerate them. They must be shipped overnight for best results as they will typically hatch within 3-8 days after being laid. You must have Food already prepared for Goliath Worm hatchlings to eat. you can purchase pre made cups from us or buy Powdered horn worm chow and cook it yourself. eggs should be kept at 75F -82f place eggs on the lid of one of our pre made cups, once hatched they will crawl to the food
Hatchling Horn Worms are Fragile and should be Handled Carefully. Keeping them at 82F is the optimal temperature to get them to grow fast.
There food must be fresh so there small Jaws can eat it. Giving them old food can kill hatchling horn worms if it has got a hard layer over the top. If you made the chow too early and the top layer has hardened scrape off the top layer to allow a new softer layer to be accessible to hatchlings, Do not handle hatchlings for the first few days.
At this stage we recommend keeping worms at 75-82F
once the Horned worms reach at least 1/2" they are more hardy and can be handled more, now is a good time to move them into the containers you want to grow them in. The temperatures at this stage are a lot more flexible. They can be kept between 55-85 f Depending on how fast you would like them to grow the warmer they are the faster they will grow.
Are the Horn Worms getting close to the Perfect size? Now is the time to slow there growth or stop it. keeping them between 55-60 f will slow the growth of Goliath Worms . if you would like to stop the growth you may drop the temperature to 45f for up to 2 days at a time ,then they must be returned to 55 or above for at least 1 day before cooling them again.
Do not forget to Purchase a Worm cup vent ring when you purchase you're hornworms. Our Vent ring is Designed to allow proper airflow in and out of your Horn Worm Container. Place the Worm Cup Vent Ring on a solid surface then Place You're Worm Container Lid on top of the vent ring,
